David is CEO of ANZ New Zealand and Group Executive responsible for the Pacific and International Retail. During his 30-plus year career at ANZ, David has held a number of senior executive roles in retail and commercial banking, including Global Head of Retail from 2015-2016, head of ANZ's global Commercial segment between 2008 and 2014 and Managing Director of UDC Finance between 1998 and 2000.  In 2015 David became a ‘Champion for Change’ a leader actively committed to diversity of thought and inclusiveness from all those who work for and with ANZ. In 2013, he won the Asian Banker CEO Leadership Achievement Award for New Zealand.

David is responsible for managing ANZ's relationships with large Corporate and Institutional clients and providing them with specialised markets, transactional and financing products and solutions. David has held a number of senior Institutional banking roles at ANZ and Deutsche Bank in Australia and New Zealand and has more than 25 years of experience in the finance and banking sector in senior management, advisory, structuring, underwriting and markets.

Graham Turley

Graham is responsible for ANZ’s Commercial & Agri team which is New Zealand’s leading provider of rural financial services. The business meets the needs of customers in the corporate, property construction finance and commercial sectors including UDC Finance.

Graham has more than 25 years of experience in corporate finance and debt capital markets and has been involved in many of New Zealand’s complex corporate finance transactions.

John Body

John is responsible for our market leading Retail & Business Banking team, providing banking services to one out of every two New Zealanders.  John led ANZ’s Wealth and Private Banking businesses in New Zealand from 2008 to 2016 during a time of strong growth.  Prior to this, he held a range of senior positions with ANZ in Singapore, Melbourne and New Zealand.

Nigel Scott

Nigel Scott is Acting Managing Director of the Wealth business in New Zealand having worked within ANZ’s Wealth business since 2006, most recently as GM Private Bank and Bank Distribution. Nigel established the Ultra High Net Worth team within Private Banking and has led the team during a strong growth phase. Prior to joining the Wealth Division, he had 10 years in the New Zealand debt capital markets where he was responsible for the structuring and distribution of complex debt capital markets instruments including bonds, hybrid securities and structured products in both the public and private markets.

Michael Bullock

Michael is responsible for ANZ’s Technology and Project portfolio along with Supplier Shared Services and Property functions. Michael leads teams that provide technical and operational support enabling ANZ to deliver a huge range of products and services to its customers. Michael is a member of the ANZ Global payment leadership team and an active contributor to ANZ's Enterprise delivery solutions. An experienced international banker, Michael has more than 23 years’ experience in the finance and banking sector.

Antonia Watson

Antonia is responsible for Finance, Taxation, Treasury and Internal Audit. Prior to accepting this role in December 2012, Antonia was ANZ New Zealand’s Financial Controller for three years. Antonia has also worked for Morgan Stanley in Hungary where she was General Manager of their business services and technology centre that served North America and Europe. She also worked for Morgan Stanley in Sydney, where she was Head of Finance and Infrastructure.

Bruce Macintyre

Bruce leads New Zealand’s risk management function including wholesale and retail credit risk, market, operating and compliance risk, as well as lending services, portfolio reporting and provisioning functions. Bruce has more than 26 years of experience in banking, starting out with The National Bank, including experience in managing the wholesale banking operational risk and compliance, lending services and credit risk functions. He is a Senior Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.

Felicity Evans

Felicity is responsible for leading strategies, programmes and policies to support the employment and development of ANZ’s 9,000 employees in New Zealand. Felicity has more than 25 years of experience in Human Resources and has worked in a number of senior roles at ANZ and provided HR support during the merger of ANZ and The National Bank.

Peter Parussini

Peter is responsible for leading ANZ’s external and internal communications, including engagement with staff, media, government, regulators, NGOs and other stakeholders. Peter has 25 years of experience in Corporate Affairs and his experience covers international affairs, acquisitions, national education campaigns, journalism and politics.

Craig is responsible for legal and corporate governance matters for ANZ and its New Zealand businesses.  He has more than 20 years experience in legal and commercial roles across a range of industries in New Zealand and overseas.  Prior to joining ANZ in 2011, Craig worked in a leading private practice in New Zealand and held a number of high profile in-house legal roles in large listed and private companies. Craig has extensive governance experience as a director on private and joint venture companies and advising boards of directors. 

Astrud Burgess

Astrud is responsible for the continued growth and development of New Zealand’s largest financial services brand. Her team support our Retail & Business Banking, Commercial & Agri, UDC, and Institutional businesses with brand, marketing and sponsorship activities.

Over the last 20 years Astrud has held a variety of senior marketing roles in the financial services sector and with advertising agencies in New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

She has a Masters in Marketing Management from Otago University.

John Judge

John Judge was appointed to the Board in December 2008. Formerly a Chief Executive of Ernst and Young New Zealand, John has considerable experience in Australasian business and brings extensive financial and analytical knowledge to the Board. He is a director of Fletcher Building Limited and Fletcher Building Finance Limited and is a former Chairman of the Crown organisation, Accident Compensation Corporation. John is also a member of the Otago University School of Business Advisory Board.

Shayne Elliott

Shayne Elliott is Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ANZ, a position he was appointed to on 1 January 2016. Prior to his appointment as CEO, Shayne was Chief Financial Officer of ANZ, having held that position since June 2012. In that role, Shayne was responsible for all aspects of Finance as well as Legal, Treasury and Investor Relations, as well as having responsibility for Group Strategy and Mergers and Acquisitions. Shayne joined ANZ (and the ANZ New Zealand Board) in June 2009 as the Chief Executive Officer, Institutional, overseeing all businesses that deal with ANZ's large business, corporate and institutional customers. Previously, Shayne was Head of Business Development at EFG Hermes, the largest investment bank in the Middle East, and spent more than 20 years at Citigroup.

Tony Carter

Tony Carter joined the Board in August 2011. From 2001 to 2010, Tony was Managing Director of Foodstuffs (Auckland) and Foodstuffs (New Zealand), New Zealand's largest retail organisation. He has extensive experience in retail and has owned and operated several Mitre 10 hardware stores, and was a director and Chairman of Mitre 10 New Zealand Limited. Tony is the Chairman of Air New Zealand Limited, Fletcher Building Limited, Fletcher Building and Finance Limited and Vector Limited and he is a Fellow of the NZ Institute of Management.

Joan Withers

Joan Withers has an extensive career in management and governance roles in New Zealand’s media and became an independent Director of our company in July 2013.  Joan is the former CEO of Fairfax Media and The Radio Network and is the Deputy Chairperson of Television New Zealand. She is also the Chair of Mighty River Power Ltd and is on the advisory board of The Treasury.

Joan is a trustee of the Tindall Foundation and the Louise Perkins Foundation (Sweet Louise). She also chairs the steering group for Grow Our Own Workforce, a project that provides a pipeline for Maori and Pacifika students in South Auckland aspiring to achieve a career in the health sector within the Counties Manukau District Health Board.  She has an MBA from the University of Auckland and is the author of "A Girl's Guide to Business" which was published by Penguin in 1998.

Mark Verbiest

Mark Verbiest was appointed to the Board in October 2013. Mark has extensive experience in telecommunications, corporate governance and the digital economy. He brings a wealth of knowledge gained from a variety of sectors, including SOEs, Government bodies and the private sector. He is currently Chairman of Spark New Zealand Limited, Transpower New Zealand Limited and Willis Bond Capital Partners Limited. He is also a Director of Freightways Limited. 

Nigel Williams

Nigel Williams was appointed to the Board in December 2015. Nigel is ANZ’s Group Chief Risk Officer and former Managing Director, Institutional, Australia. He is a director of Shanghai Rural Commercial Bank Co. Ltd. Prior to joining ANZ in Australia he worked for ANZ National Bank of New Zealand and Southpac in New Zealand.  A graduate of Otago University, he is a former Director of NZX Limited, E*TRADE Australia Limited and Australian Financial Markets Association, and a past Board member of INFINZ. He is a member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors, and in 2009 was awarded a fellow of INFINZ. He was a member of New Zealand’s 2008 Capital Market Development Taskforce.
