What transactions can I perform on ANZ Internet Banking?

ANZ Internet Banking allows you to manage your everyday banking 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You can make a range of payments and transfers online from your accounts.

  • Pay Anyone: transfer money to any bank account within New Zealand.
  • Pay bills: pay your bills online. Make one-off payments or schedule recurring payments.
  • Transfer between my accounts: transfer your money between your linked ANZ accounts.
  • Tax Payments: make payments to the Inland Revenue Department (IRD)
  • Schedule multiple payments/transfers: schedule multiple future dated payments or transfers.
  • Future payments/transfers: view all your scheduled future dated payments and transfers.
  • Past payments/transfers: view your previous payments and transfers made within ANZ Internet Banking.
  • International services: transfer money to overseas accounts without needing to go to a branch.
Do I need to register to make certain transactions online?

You need to register for certain facility while other facilities are activated by default when you register for ANZ Internet Banking.

  • Pay bills : you can pay your bills online. This facility is activated by default when you register for ANZ Internet Banking.
  • Transfer between accounts: you need to have two or more accounts linked to your ANZ Internet Banking to transfer funds.
  • Pay Anyone payment: you can transfer money to any other bank account within New Zealand. You need to register for this facility and activate the daily limit before you start making payments online.
  • International service: you need to register for international services before you can transfer funds overseas. Your daily payment limit under this facility is same as your Pay Anyone limit.
Do I need to link an account before I can use it to transact online?

Yes. The account needs to be linked to your ANZ Internet Banking before you can use it to transact online.

  • You can request to link an account via ANZ Internet Banking via the "Update details" menu.
  • If you can not see your account linked to your ANZ Internet Banking, you may contact ANZ Internet Banking team on 0800 368 524 (International customers please call +64 4 473 0370)
  • Alternatively, you can send us a SecureMail request or visit ANZ branch
How do I transfer funds overseas?

You can transfer funds overseas via the "International Services" section of the "Pay and Transfer" menu. You'll need to have registered for Pay Anyone and you daily limit will apply.

Can I pay my bills online?

Yes. You can pay your bills online via the "Pay bills" under the "Pay and Transfer" menu. 

  • This service is activated by default when you register for ANZ Internet Banking.
Can I transfer funds to someone else's account on ANZ Internet Banking?

Yes. "Pay Anyone" function under the "Pay and Transfer" menu allows you to transfer funds to any bank account within New Zealand.

  • Please note that you cannot transfer funds to a credit card account or a Term deposit account using Pay Anyone.
Where can I see payments or transfers I've made in the past?

In the "Past Payments/ Transfers" facility located in the "Pay and Transfer" menu. This allows you to view and search your past ANZ Internet Banking payments and transfers, using the following criteria:

  • the account from which the payment or transfer was made (including closed accounts or accounts that have been de-linked from your CRN)
  • date range
  • transfer or payment type.

You can view details of your payments and transfers for up to the last 90 days via ANZ Internet Banking.

For transactions not available in Internet Banking:

  • please refer to your account statement or
  • call the ANZ Internet Banking team on 0800 368 524 (International customers please call +64 4 473 0370) 24 hours a day, seven days a week to order a copy of your statement.
Can I schedule future dated payments?

Yes. You can schedule future dated transfer or bill payments via the "Schedule Multiple Future Payments/Transfers" section under the "Pay and Transfer" menu. 

  • This page allows you to lodge up to ten payments which could be combination of fund transfers, Pay Anyone transfers and bill payments.
Where can I see payments I've scheduled for future dates?

The "Future Payments/Transfer" section under the "Pay and Transfer" menu provides you with a summary of the transfers or bill payments you have scheduled via ANZ Internet Banking to be processed on a future date.

I need to delete a future dated transaction - how can I do this?

You can delete future payments, transfers or bill payments via the "Future Payments/Transfer" page by clicking on the "Immediately Delete Payment/Transfer" link.

  • This will immediately delete the selected future dated payment.
  • However, it will remain on this page till the due date showing the status as deleted.
  • If you wish to delete a transfer, the request must be lodged with ANZ Internet Banking prior to 12.00am (midnight NZT) on the day prior to payment.
Can I edit or delete a transfer I've schedule for today?

No. You cannot cancel or delete immediate transfers or a scheduled payment/transfer to be processed today. 

  • Transfers must be deleted prior to midnight on the day prior to the transfer date.
How can I skip a payment from a recurring sequence?

You can skip a future payment, transfer or bill payment from a recurring sequence via the "Future Payments/Transfer" page by clicking on the "Skip/Unskip next Scheduled Transfer" link.

  • This will skip the selected future dated payment.
  • You may click on the same link if you decide to unskip the scheduled payment.
  • If you wish to skip a transfer, the request must be lodged with ANZ Internet Banking prior to 12.00am (midnight NZT) on the day prior to payment.
Can I edit a future dated transfer?

No. You cannot edit a future dated transfer.

  • However, you can delete the future payments, transfers or bill payments via the "Future Payments/Transfer" page by clicking on the "Immediately Delete Payment/Transfer" link.
  • This will immediately delete the selected future dated payment. 
  • The request must be lodged with ANZ Internet Banking prior to 12.00am (midnight NZT) on the day prior to payment.
  • Once deleted, you can then set up a new payment with the required changes.
How long does it take for the recipient to receive my funds?

Transfers of funds to other people's accounts at ANZ are processed overnight and available the following business day. If the payment is made to an account held with another financial institution, the funds will be debited from your account immediately but the time it takes for these funds to be credited into the payee's account will depend on the other financial institution.

How do I know if my payments are successful?

Whenever you request any payment, transfer or bill payment, once you confirm the payment the system generates the lodgement number and a receipt number. 

  • The receipt number confirms that the payment has been submitted successfully.
  • For scheduled payment, you can check the status of payment and the receipt number via the "Past Payments/Transfers" page.
  • For unsuccessful payments, the status would show as "failed".
  • You can also check the details of the payment to see the reason for failed payments.
Are there fees for transferring funds to other people's accounts?

There is no charge for Pay Anyone, transfers between accounts and bill payments.

I have a query about a transaction I've made online – what can I do?

You can check the details of the payment that you have done online via the "Past Payments/Transfers" section in your Internet Banking. This page shows you the list of transactions that you have done online. You can then click on the "View details" link on a particular payment that you want to query. You can also contact ANZ Internet Banking team on 0800 368 524 (International customers please call +64 4 473 0370), 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for further information.

  • Alternatively, you may send us an enquiry via the "SecureMail" menu for a particular transaction.
  • If an unauthorised payment has been done using ANZ Internet Banking, and you are sure that you have not made this payment please contact the ANZ Internet Banking team on 0800 368 524 (International customers please call +64 4 473 0370), 24 hours a day, seven days a week to report a fraudulent transaction.
Important notes
  • When you request future-dated payments or transfers please remember that cleared funds must be available in your account at midnight on the day before the scheduled payment or transfer date or your payment will be unsuccessful.
  • If your enquiry relates to a transfer with a "Status Unknown" message, please call the ANZ Internet Banking team on 0800 368 524 (International callers: +64 4 473 0370), 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
  • All fund transfers between your linked accounts performed after 10.00pm or on weekends or public holidays for the same day transfer, are processed on the following business day.
  • All Pay Anyone transfers and bill payments requested after 10.30pm or on weekends or a day that is a public holiday for the same day transfer are processed to your account on the following business day.
  • All future-dated transfers will be processed by us on the morning of the date requested unless the payment date falls on a weekend or public holiday in which case the transfer will be processed on the next bank business day.
  • Transfers from a credit card may be treated as a cash advance.
