The ANZ Graduate Package is available to students who have graduated in the last 12 months. The course of study completed must have been on a full or part time basis for a minimum duration of one year at a Government recognised tertiary institution and/or in a NZ Qualifications Authority (NZQA) approved course and/or for a NZQA qualification relating to your job.
To be eligible for a credit card or any lending you must be aged 18 years or over and a permanent resident or citizen of New Zealand.
Application criteria
To apply for an ANZ Graduate Package you will need:
- proof that you graduated in the past 12 months
- to agree to pay any salary, wages or other income into your graduate account.
New ANZ customers
If you're a new ANZ customer, you will also need one of the following:
- current photo identification such as your passport, driver's licence or another bank's credit card with photo
- two kinds of non-photo personal identification, such as your birth certificate or another New Zealand bank's embossed debit or credit card
If possible, you should provide six months of statements from your previous bank.
After you apply
If your application is approved, you must redirect your income into your ANZ Graduate Account.
Your ANZ Graduate Account offers some great savings to help ease you into working life.

You can apply for a $1,000 ANZ VISA Classic or ANZ Standard MasterCard. Your first year's annual account fee is waived.
Round the clock access via various channels:
Call charges for Phone Direct are waived for the duration of study.

An ANZ Overdraft is an additional feature that can be attached to your ANZ Graduate Account. It provides a financial safety net to cover any unexpected cash expenses. This product is ideal to help you bridge a gap between paydays or unforeseen expenses.
How it works
The ANZ Graduate Package Overdraft allows you to apply for an interest free overdraft up to $2,000 for one year. The overdraft application fee is waived for graduates but a credit facility fee of approximately $5 per month ($60 per annum) is payable. After the one year, the rate will revert to the prevailing ANZ Overdraft rate.
Transactions up to the approved overdraft limit made via all banking channels such as ATMs, EFTPOS, ANZ Phone Direct,* ANZ Internet Banking,* branches and cheques would be honoured.
Overdraft eligibility
To be eligible for an ANZ Graduate Package Overdraft, you must:
- be 18 years or older
- have all regular income direct credited to your account
- have a good credit or savings history
- be a permanent New Zealand resident.

How to apply

ANZ lending criteria apply and credit facility fees apply to overdrafts. Fees apply if you exceed your overdraft limit. The Graduate Package including the interest free overdraft will apply for one year from the date you are moved onto the Graduate Account. After the one year, the overdraft rate will revert to the prevailing ANZ Overdraft rate. Service charges will apply when you use a non-ANZ/National Bank ATM.
