Loading your card

When I load money onto my card, can I use it straight away?

If you load money onto your card at an ANZ branch you can use it straight away. If you use an online bill payment to load your card, it may take two working days to show in your account.

Can I load up one card using another?

Yes. Transactions between RWC 2011 Prepaid cards and ANZ Recharge cards appear in the account you are transferring the money to immediately.

Using your card

Can I use my RWC 2011 Prepaid Card anywhere?

Pretty much. You can use it at any retailer in New Zealand or overseas that accepts MasterCard® electronically (it won’t work with the old ‘zip zap’ machines). You can use it online, over the phone, in our branches and wherever there is an EFTPOS terminal. You can also use it at ATMs in New Zealand and overseas. Currency conversion fees apply to all foreign currency transactions.

Can I use my RWC 2011 Prepaid Card to withdraw cash?

Yes. You can withdraw money over the counter at any ANZ branch.
If you can’t get to a branch, you can use an ATM to withdraw cash. The fee for all cash withdrawals is $3 ($0 until 30 June 2010).

Banks and other financial institutions who own overseas ATMs may charge fees for using them. At the time of the transaction, the ATM should disclose the fee amount and require you to accept the fee before you can complete your transaction.

Additional cards

Can I get a card for someone else on my account?

Yes. You can add one additional cardholder, but they’ll need to be aged 16 years or older. We’ll need to see their ID, so they will have to come into an ANZ branch.

Your additional cardholder will have a separate number and a separate Secure Access Code. They’ll also need to activate their card by setting up a PIN before they can use it.

Do I have to set up the additional cardholder at the same time I apply for my card?

No. You can set up an additional cardholder at any time.

Can I set limits for how the second card is used?

Yes, you can set spend and withdrawal limits, and you can limit the types of transaction each card is used for (e.g. you can specify no ATM withdrawals). NB: Spend and transaction limits cannot be set up for specific merchants or types of websites. Log in to set up or change these settings, call 0800 777 811 (option 0), or visit your nearest ANZ branch.

Replacement cards

I know my card’s here somewhere, I just can’t find it. What do I do?

If you’ve misplaced your card but think you may find it, you can ask us to put on a temporary lock that will stop someone else from using it. When your card is locked, you’ll be unable to access the funds on your account. If you need to access your funds, and you can’t find your card, you’ll need to cancel it and order a new one. If you find your care you’ll need to unlock it to access your funds.

You can ask us to lock or unlock your card by logging in to your RWC 2011 Prepaid Card account, by text request, by calling 0800 777 811 (option 0, or +64 4 499 1546 from overseas) or by visiting your nearest ANZ branch.

Call 0800 777 811 (option 0, or +64 4 499 1546 from overseas) or come in to the nearest ANZ branch and let us know right away. We’ll cancel the card immediately and order you a new one.

You’ll need to set a new PIN and activate your card, and we’ll transfer any funds from your old card. Just remember to change over any ongoing transactions that use the old card number. A replacement card fee may apply.

I need another card. This one’s broken.

If your card is broken or doesn’t work, call 0800 777 811 (option 0, or +64 4 499 1546 from overseas), or visit your local ANZ branch and we’ll get it sorted. Fees may apply.
