ANZ Foreign Currency Cash

When you're travelling, it's sensible to carry cash in the currency of the country you're visiting, to cover any incidental expenses. ANZ deals in the major currencies of the world, but if you're going to a number of countries, or if we don't stock the currency you're looking for, you may wish to take some United States dollars with you. These are widely accepted and easy to exchange. Our staff can organise the cash you need.

Convenience

Cash in the currency of your destination is convenient and can be readily used to purchase goods and services.

If you're carrying a currency that isn't the local currency, you should be able to convert it at most major banks at your destination.

Currencies and denominations

ANZ can supply you with cash in more than 20 currencies, with a range of denominations available, including:

  • Australian Dollars
  • British Pounds
  • Euro
  • US Dollars.

Foreign cash is regularly on hand at ANZ branches. Any other currencies can be ordered in for you.

Loss or theft

Remember, if you lose your foreign cash, it is gone and cannot be replaced.

  • Never carry too much on you at any one time.
Conversion in New Zealand
Accepted notes can be converted back to New Zealand dollars at any ANZ branch when you return.*
Advice
We recommend you order your travel money well before your trip - particularly if you live in an outlying or rural area.

ANZ Phone Direct International Services is only available between 8.30am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday (New Zealand time) excluding New Zealand public holidays.

Foreign currency accounts are only available via ANZ Phone Direct International Services, if in the exact same names as the domestic account registered.

ANZ Internet Banking International Services can only be used when paying from a New Zealand dollar account.
