Upcoming changes to the ANZ Default KiwiSaver Scheme
2 July 2021
As you may know, from December 2021 ANZ will no longer be a default KiwiSaver provider. If you’re a member of the ANZ Default KiwiSaver Scheme, this may affect you. Below you’ll find information about what you need to know.
If you’re in the ANZ Default KiwiSaver Scheme
What this means for you depends on whether you’ve made a choice about what fund you invest your savings into. When you were first enrolled in the scheme by your employer, your money was automatically invested in our Conservative Fund. However, you may have since decided to either switch to one of our other funds (for example our Growth, Balanced Growth, Balanced, Conservative Balanced or Cash Fund), move to our Lifetimes option or remain in our Conservative Fund.
If you’ve chosen a fund
You don’t need to do anything. Your money will stay invested in the fund you’ve chosen and you’ll continue to enjoy all the benefits of being an ANZ Default KiwiSaver Scheme member.
If you haven’t chosen a fund
From December 2021, your KiwiSaver account will automatically be transferred to a Balanced Fund with one of the new or re-appointed default providers. However, if you’d rather keep your KiwiSaver account with us, it’s easy. Just complete our online change request form and confirm which fund you want to be in. Even if you want to stay in our Conservative Fund, you still need to let us know.
Not sure about what fund to choose? We’re here to help. You can compare our funds online, and our risk profile tool is available to help you work out your tolerance for risk and which fund might be right for you. If you’d prefer to talk to one of our team about your fund choice, just give us a call on 0800 736 034 Monday to Friday, 8am-6pm.
If you’re in the ANZ KiwiSaver Scheme (not the ANZ Default KiwiSaver Scheme)
There’s no change to the ANZ KiwiSaver Scheme and you don’t need to do anything. You’ll continue to enjoy all the benefits that come with being an ANZ KiwiSaver Scheme member.
Not sure which ANZ managed KiwiSaver scheme you invest in
If you have ANZ Internet Banking or the goMoney mobile app you can easily find out the scheme and fund your money is invested in. Just go to the KiwiSaver tab to see the name of the scheme, and the fund you’re in is under ‘fund details’. Otherwise, give us a call on 0800 736 034 Monday to Friday, 8am-6pm and we can easily check this for you.
Why choose ANZ?
When you invest with the ANZ KiwiSaver Scheme or ANZ Default KiwiSaver Scheme, you can relax knowing your money is looked after by some of the best investment managers in the business. With over 350 years of collective investment experience, they actively monitor local and global markets to make sure your savings are delivering strong returns over the long-term. Over the last ten years, the ANZ Default KiwiSaver Scheme has delivered better returns for members than any other default provider—.
You’re also in control – you can easily track and manage your KiwiSaver account alongside any other ANZ accounts you have, all through ANZ Internet Banking and the goMoney mobile app.
