Report a scam, fraud, loss or theft

Contact us immediately if you become aware of anything that’s out of the ordinary with your banking, or you believe your accounts might have been compromised.

Lost or stolen cards

If your EFTPOS, Visa Debit or credit card is lost or stolen, cancel it online or call us immediately. You can request a replacement card at the same time.

If you think it is just misplaced, you can use our mobile banking app, ANZ goMoney, or Internet Banking to put a temporary block on it. When you find your card you can unblock it.

Impersonating ANZ?

Let us know about suspicious emails or text messages by forwarding them to hoax@cybersecurity.anz.com. When reporting them, please include the email or a screenshot of the text message.

If you receive a suspicious phone call, hang up and call us immediately on 0800 269 348 (+64 4 499 4079 from overseas, charges may apply). We’ll need to know that number the call came from, so note it down if you can.

Impersonating someone or something else?

Report non-banking suspicious emails and text messages to CERT NZ so they can investigate. Find out how to report it on the CERT NZ website.

To report suspicious phone calls, please contact your phone company immediately so they can block the number. You’ll need to have the date and the number the call came from to report it.

Eligibility criteria, terms and conditions apply to ANZ Internet Banking and ANZ goMoney. See our Electronic Banking Conditions (PDF 129KB) for more information.
