Our corporate services team provides specialist help and support across the bank. Together, they help foster the ANZ culture here in Aotearoa, delivering our purpose through strong people, risk and financial management, solid processes, clear communication and lasting relationships. They also help improve the lives of our customers and positively impact the communities we’re a part of up and down the motu.
Finance
Our finance team is responsible for the overall financial management of ANZ New Zealand, including control of the structure of ANZ NZ’s balance sheet, finance management information systems, financial reporting and performance management. They do this in a way that simplifies the way we work and creates a great place for our ANZ whānau to work and grow.
Finance also has responsibility for property and procurement, as well as our business governance and controls centre of excellence. The team also works closely with our wonderful colleagues over in the Pacific.
Talent and culture
Talent and culture is all about developing the capabilities, culture and experience that our talented employees need to deliver our strategy and support our customers.
This team anticipates how these areas are evolving to determine what our teams will need in order to transform into the bank of the future, as well as delivering a great employee experience right now.
Corporate affairs
Corporate affairs works at the nexus of communications, community, customer and industry, driving a culture of trust and integrity through our reputation, brand and community impact.
Corporate affairs includes our media team, including our own specialised newsroom, strategic communications, government relations, corporate social responsibility and customer relations.
Corporate affairs also runs the ESG (Environment, Social and Corporate Governance) strategy, and Tākiri-Ā-Rāngi, our Te Ao Māori strategy.

We’re all about developing the future of ANZ, then managing the end to end requirements of time bound business change, be it customer experience, growth, simplification, productivity, regulation or compliance.
Our strategy, project management, change management, business analysis and portfolio governance gurus see people, process, and technology changes through safely, from our smallest to our largest initiatives.
Marketing
Our award-winning marketers help people to connect with our brand, improve their financial wellbeing and feel valued.
Our marketing function includes portfolio, brand and sponsorship, direct to customer communications, and digital sales and performance - including how we better personalise our services for our wonderful customers.
Customer experience
Our customer experience area is a team of specialists who build deep understanding of our people – their needs, goals and motivations – and designs customer-centric experiences that bring the bank’s purpose to life.
This team uses research and insights to monitor, measure and listen to our customers, builds capability and awareness about putting the customer at the centre of all we do, and creates and redesigns exceptional experiences and services.
Legal
Our team of trusted legal specialists work with a variety of teams across ANZ New Zealand, providing guidance on personal, business and institutional banking, our funds management business, operations, regulation and finance.
Our lawyers help our business interpret laws and regulation relevant to ANZ New Zealand, and make sure our customers can understand their banking in plain English.
Our team also includes the New Zealand Company Secretary’s Office. The role of the NZCSO is primarily to support the Board of ANZ New Zealand and its subsidiary companies.
Internal audit
Our Internal Audit team is an integral component of ANZ’s governance process, supporting the bank to safely move at pace, and deliver what matters for our customers, the board and regulators. Forward-looking, adaptable and flexible, this team is the independent third line function of ANZ’s three lines of defence operating model.
