How we can use and share your information
Send you relevant messages
We may use your information to send messages or ads about products and services from ANZ or third parties we believe are relevant or may interest you. This may be by email, text, mail, the ANZ goMoney app, Internet Banking—, or through websites and apps including social media.
You can opt out of our marketing emails and text messages by:
- Clicking ‘unsubscribe’ in emails
- Replying ‘stop’ to texts
- Calling our Contact Centre on 0800 269 296 and say you want to opt out of marketing.
If you opt out, you may still be shown marketing communications in goMoney and Internet Banking.
We sometimes exclude certain groups from our marketing, such as under-18s. So you might not get marketing messages from us even if you didn’t opt out.
We can still send you mandatory or service-related messages, such as security alerts, statements, and tips on how to get the most out of our digital tools.
Even if you opt out of our marketing emails or texts, you may still see ANZ ads on third-party platforms like Facebook and Instagram. You can manage your ad preferences directly within each of those platforms.
Ads on third-party platforms
We advertise across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Google, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, and Bing. We may share limited information with them to show you ads we believe are relevant to you.
This same information may also be used to understand how you interact with our ads, helping us improve the type of content we show you.
You can opt out of targeted advertising through third-party digital platforms (such as Facebook and Google ads) by updating your preferences within each platform. For more, see Managing ad preferences on third-party platforms.
Improve our websites and apps
We may share information with third-party analytics providers to understand how people use our platforms and third-party digital platforms with ANZ content. This helps us:
- Improve and tailor your user experience
- Identify and fix issues
- Understand the effectiveness of our content and marketing.
When you log into our websites and apps, we may combine this data with your personal information to improve the relevance of the content we show you.
