Protecting your house

Damage to your house can be expensive and disruptive. If your house is damaged, you could repair or rebuild it with house insurance.

Temporary accommodation

If your house is uninhabitable because of loss or damage, this cover may pay reasonable costs for temporary accommodation (including boarding your pets), up to 5% of your sum insured, or $30,000, whichever is greater, for up to 12 months.

ANZ home lending payment

An additional $2,000 payment to you if your house is mortgaged with ANZ and suffers a total loss that is covered by the policy.

Gradual damage

Up to $3,000 for gradual damage to your house caused by leaking or overflowing from internal water pipes. 

Retaining walls

Up to $80,000 to repair or rebuild retaining walls on your property caused by a sudden and unforeseen event.

Lawns and gardens

Up to $2,500 to restore your lawns and gardens if they’re damaged in an event that also damaged your house.

Extra cover at no cost

SumExtra provides extra cover for no extra cost. If your claim qualifies, you could be paid more than your sum insured amount.
