Cultivating an inclusive culture
Creating an inclusive culture means ensuring that every employee feels a sense of belonging and is empowered to contribute their best at ANZ.
Key initiatives
- Inclusive policies: Implementing policies that promote work-life balance, flexibility, and equal opportunities.
- Awareness campaigns: Raising awareness about the importance of diversity and inclusion through events and communications.
- Staff networks: We are proud of our nine employee-led networks (Affinity Network Groups) who support our diverse communities to connect, celebrate and belong at ANZ.
Impact
- Employee engagement: An inclusive culture leads to higher levels of employee satisfaction and retention.
- Amplifying diverse voices: when our diverse communities feel safe to speak up, we will make better decisions and be more innovative in our response to customers.
- Positive workplace environment: A culture of inclusion fosters respect, collaboration, and innovation.

Strong cultures are built around the desire to provide fair access and opportunity for all the people we deal with – whether that’s our people, or the customers, stakeholders and communities we’re privileged to deal with.
I am really proud to lead and be part of a team which is focused on improving and driving change for ANZ Aotearoa and providing the skills and training for our teams and business areas to do this.
This strategy is ANZ Aotearoa’s acknowledgement of the amazing benefits that equity, diversity and inclusion brings, and its commitment to being a market leader in this area.
