Manual transactions include cheques and transactions handled by our staff at a branch or by phone.
Automated transactions include Visa Debit and Eftpos transactions, direct debits and direct credits, and all electronic transactions made through ANZ Internet Banking, goMoney and Phone Banking.

An overdraft is a simple way to make sure you've always got access to extra funds if you need them. And unlike a loan, there are no minimum monthly repayments, so you always have control. It's the ideal safety net for your account.

If you have an ANZ Overdraft## on your Freedom account the following fee and interest rate applies.

0.12% of the agreed overdraft limit or overdrawn balance, whichever is greater (minimum $5 per month).

  • Register for Internet Banking and goMoney to get the most from Freedom – they are the easiest way to bank on-the-go.
  • Rest assured you can also bank through our other ways-to-bank including Visa Debit, Eftpos, ANZ branches and our Call Centre.

Avoid bank fees

With Freedom you’ll pay no transaction fees, regardless of how many transactions you make or how you make them (non-standard fees may apply). Plus, we’ll waive the monthly account fee (normally $5) each month you deposit a total of $2,500 or more into your account.

Tip: Having your salary paid into your Freedom account is the easiest way to help make sure you enjoy avoiding fees.

Online statements

You’ll receive your Freedom statement online each month through Internet Banking, where you can view and print up to seven years of statements.

Visa Debit card

An ANZ Visa Debit card is like an Eftpos card, only better as you can use it anywhere Visa is accepted – online, over the phone, overseas and in stores. Better still, if you link an ANZ Visa Debit card to your Freedom account, you won't pay an annual card fee (saving you $10 p.a.).
