With Google Pay, you can make purchases using your device anywhere that accepts contactless payments, both in New Zealand and overseas.
Multiple layers of security - Google Pay protects your payment information with multiple layers of security, using one of the world’s most advanced security infrastructures to help keep your account safe.
Your information isn’t shared - When you use your phone to pay in stores, Google Pay doesn’t send your actual credit or debit card number with your payment. Instead, an encrypted virtual account number is used to represent your information – so your real card details stay safe.
Safeguarding consecutive payments - If you make three consecutive payments without unlocking your phone, you will be prompted to unlock your phone before you can make another payment.
Payment authorisation required - High value transactions (over NZ$200) require you to unlock your device or you may need to enter your card PIN at the terminal to authorise the transaction.
Inactive cards deleted - If your device has been turned off, lost, or otherwise inactive in the last 90 days, then cards may be deleted for your security.
