Google Pay™ with ANZ
All you need is a compatible Android™ device and an ANZ Visa Debit card or ANZ Visa credit card to make payments with Google Pay. A little bit of magic.
Key features
Security
- Multiple layers of security – Google Pay and Google Wallet™ protect your payment information with multiple layers of security, using one of the world’s most advanced security infrastructures to help keep your account safe.
- Your information isn’t shared – When you use your device to pay in stores, Google Pay doesn’t send your actual credit or debit card number with your payment. Instead, an encrypted virtual account number is used to represent your information – so your real card details stay safe.
- Safeguarding consecutive payments – If you make three consecutive payments without unlocking your device, you may be prompted to unlock your device before you can make another payment.
- Payment authorisation required – High value transactions (over NZ$200) require you to unlock your device or you may need to enter your card PIN at the terminal to authorise the transaction.
- Inactive cards deleted – If your device has been turned off, lost, or otherwise inactive in the last 90 days, then cards may be deleted for your security.

Lost or stolen device
If your device is lost or stolen, you can find, lock or erase it using the Android Device Manager. Your cards will be suspended or removed from Google Wallet™ if you choose to lock or erase your device.
You must also call us right away on 0800 269 847 (or +64 4 471 0242 from overseas). We will suspend your ANZ card(s) in Google Pay and may also suspend use of your physical ANZ card(s).
Making payments
Simply wake your device and hold it over the contactless-enabled payment terminal. If your purchase is more than NZ$200, you will need to unlock your device or you may need to enter your card PIN.
You can use it everywhere you see the following symbols:
If you make three payments without unlocking your device, your device will need to be unlocked before you can make another payment.
