Joining ANZ is easy. Open a bank account the fast way using the ANZ goMoney app— or use our online form.

1. Check you can join using our app
You'll need to:
- Be 13 years old or over
- Have a New Zealand residential address
- Have a current New Zealand ID – either a passport or driver licence
- Have a mobile device to take a selfie video to verify your identity.

2. Download goMoney and apply
Download ANZ goMoney New Zealand from the App Store— or Google Play™— store.
In goMoney select Join as a new customer and follow the steps. For help, see how to join using goMoney.
Join with an everyday account and you'll get an ANZ Go account with:
- $0 monthly account fee
- Free ANZ Visa Debit card
3. We'll contact you
We'll check your application over the next two business days.
If we need more information to complete your application, we’ll contact you or you'll receive a text and email when your account is ready to go.
Once your account it set up, you can apply for savings accounts, credit cards, KiwiSaver and home loans – all through goMoney.
Other ways to join
No New Zealand ID or address
If you don't have a current New Zealand passport, driver licence or address, you can still apply online or call us. We’ll then be in touch to organise a visit to an ANZ branch to confirm your identity.

Moving your banking to ANZ
We can help
To help with switching your banking to ANZ, we can transfer your balances and payments from your current New Zealand bank to ANZ, and close your current accounts if you’d like.
Once you’ve opened an account, simply call us on 0800 269 296 to arrange a visit to any ANZ branch, let us know which balances and payments you’d like to transfer and we’ll take care of the rest.
