Easy to set up
It’s quick to set up Google Pay within ANZ goMoney if you have an ANZ Visa Debit card or a personal ANZ Visa credit card and a compatible Android phone.
Easy to pay
Just wake your phone screen and hold it over the contactless terminal to make a payment.
Convenient
With Google Pay you can make purchases anywhere you can tap and pay. This includes thousands of stores in New Zealand.
Secure
Google Pay protects your payment info with multiple layers of advanced security to help keep your information safe. With Google Pay your card number is never shared with the retailer or saved on your device.
If you make three payments without unlocking your phone, your phone will need to be unlocked before you can make another payment.
Android phone
Your device will need to be running Android Lollipop 5.0 or above with the Google Pay app installed.
ANZ Visa Debit card
Use it anywhere Visa is accepted (online, over the phone, overseas and in stores), using money from your everyday or savings account.
Or personal ANZ Visa credit card
A range of options offering different features and benefits including lower interest rate, cash or Airpoints rewards, plus other benefits.
- Ensure that you have the Google Pay app and the latest version of ANZ goMoney on your phone
- Log into ANZ goMoney
- Open the main menu
- Select ‘Google Pay’
- Select the eligible card/s that you want to add (the first card that you add will be your default card)
- Tap next, read and agree to the T&Cs.
That’s it – you’re good to go!
Simply wake your phone and hold it over the contactless-enabled payment terminal. If your purchase is more than $80, you’ll need to enter your card PIN.

Goodbye goMoney Wallet
With the launch of Google Pay we’ll no longer be offering goMoney Wallet from 25 October. If you currently use goMoney Wallet, you can set up Google Pay by logging into ANZ goMoney and following the prompts. Setting up Google Pay will automatically close your goMoney Wallet.
