Travel money
These days, it’s convenient to use a mixture of travel money options. It's easy to access foreign cash when you're travelling and there are convenient ways to make purchases overseas. Talk to ANZ, we’ve got solutions for your travel money needs.
Credit and Visa Debit cards
When you’re travelling overseas, take your ANZ credit— or Visa Debit cards with you. You can use them to make purchases and get cash in millions of places around the world.
- If you want the option of using your card to access funds from your everyday account to make purchases overseas you'll need a Visa Debit card – if you have an existing EFTPOS card, you can upgrade to a Visa Debit card. You must be 13 or over to get a Visa Debit card.
- ANZ Airpoints Visa Platinum card has features like Overseas Travel Insurance— and the chance to earn Airpoints Dollars™ on your credit card spend.
We've reduced our currency conversion charge to just 1.3%, so you pay less for foreign currency transactions with your Credit and Visa Debit cards, both online and overseas.
Overseas ATMs
- We do not charge an Overseas ATM fee for using, or withdrawing money from, an ATM outside of New Zealand. This means ANZ customers can enjoy the convenience of using any ATM around the world. Please note that banks and other financial institutions who own overseas ATMs may charge a fee for using them. Currency conversion charges of 1.3% of the NZD amount also apply to foreign transactions.
- We also have ANZ ATMs in Australia and many other countries in the Asia Pacific region. Use goMoney's 'FIND ANZ' feature or our ANZ global locator to find an ANZ ATM near you when you’re overseas.
