Our breadth and diversity is reflected in our people. We employ around 8,000 people right around New Zealand. They come from a wide range of backgrounds, skills and specialisations and we value the richness that diversity brings to our business.

Valuing our people

As one of New Zealand's largest employers, we understand that our people drive our success. That's why we work hard to make our organisation a place where every one of our people is valued for the contribution they make and are supported in achieving their individual goals.

Celebrating difference

You might be one of 8,000 staff, but to us you're unique. Recognising and celebrating the diversity of our people helps us to deliver even better service to our customers.

We are committed to building a creative and inclusive culture where the ideas, beliefs, attitudes and skills of all our people are valued. We recognise that work is just one part of people's lives, and we encourage our people to bring their whole selves to work.

ANZ NZ was awarded the Supreme YWCA Equal Pay Award in 2015 and 2016 and we continue to progress in this area, acknowledged by ANZ receiving the YWCA Compact award in 2017, which signifies the continued commitment to equal pay best practice. YWCA Equal Pay Awards recognise business leaders who champion equal pay within their organisations, those who step forward and be counted to become thought leaders, and help create a fairer future for everyone.

20th Diversity Awards NZ

Diversity Works NZ (formerly Equal Employment Opportunities Trust):

ANZ NZ received the 2017 Positive Inclusion Award celebrating our innovative response to inclusivity of the LGBTQI community in the workforce, particularly highlighting our #HoldTight campaign.  New Zealand’s workforce is comprised of people of varying genders and sexual orientations. An accepting, unbiased workplace encourages engaged, active, productive employees and recognises the whole person.

In 2015 ANZ NZ received the Empowerment Award for empowering women in the workplace. Embracing and accepting the positive influence of a gender balanced workforce involves acknowledging pay equity, mutually available career pipelines, promotions and governance positions for all.  Acknowledging the impact of having a family on both genders and altering working conditions accordingly creates loyal, empowered, productive employees.
