Account Service Charges

The following information is current as at 01 July 2011 and is subject to change.

Service charges apply when the specific service is used, and are in addition to account transaction charges. They are detailed below.

Deposits
Collection item fee: 25c
First 10 cheques deposited per account per key date cycle are free. Thereafter the collection item fee applies. This fee is not charged to customers on the ANZ Go, ANZ Everyday, ANZ Advantage, ANZ Youth, ANZ Student and ANZ Graduate accounts.

Inoperative account fees are charged on accounts with a balance less than $150 that haven't been used for one year or more. If the account balance is $30 or less, it may be closed.

Credit facility fee
Credit facility fees apply to accounts that have an overdraft. They are calculated daily on the overdraft limit and charged monthly on the accounts' key dates.

Overdrawing your available balance or the approved overdraft limit
Unarranged overdraft fee $10.00 for first transaction per day
ANZ can choose to charge an unarranged overdraft fee if you exceed your approved overdraft limit or your account becomes overdrawn by more than $20.00.
The fee is charged the first time this happens each day, with a maximum of $10 per account per day. This is in addition to debit interest.
Applies to withdrawals and transfers, including those done by ATM, EFTPOS, ANZ Phone Direct, ANZ Internet Banking, cheque, automatic payment, direct debit, Bill Payment and Pay Anyone.
This fee is not charged on the ANZ Everyday Lite account.
Insufficient Funds Fee  
Future dated Bill Payment and Pay Anyone transactions $10.00 per transaction
Cheques, automatic payments, direct debits $15.00 per transaction
ANZ can choose to charge an Insufficient Funds Fee when it declines a payment because there are not enough cleared funds in an account. The fees apply to transactions made by cheque, automatic payment and direct debit and to future dated Bill Payment and Pay Anyone transactions via Internet Banking. Debit interest also applies.
This fee is not charged on the ANZ Everyday Lite account.
Debit interest
Debit interest applies to accounts with an overdraft or accounts that are overdrawn. Charges monthly on the account's key date, although exceptions may apply for the ANZ Student account and the ANZ Graduate account.
